“…Apple’s next step in both iOS and tvOS is to securely and safely open Siri up to 3rd party developer use.”
Siri can do a lot, but Apple has restricted it in some important areas. By not opening it up to 3rd parties, much like on iOS, Siri is limited to Apple’s services, Hulu, and Netflix. It’s sad because Siri can’t even search in the App Store and was only recently updated to search within Apple Music. It’s clear Apple’s next step in both iOS and tvOS is to securely and safely open Siri up to 3rd party developer use.
Apple Tv 4: The Ultimate Streaming Experience
The Siri Remote is also full of multiple gyroscopic sensors and an accelerometer, allowing for games based on movement, such as Asphalt 8, to be played on the Apple TV without the need for a separate controller (although console-like controllers can be connected to the Apple TV 4 via Bluetooth).
Connecting Via Bluetooth
Connecting via Bluetooth 4.0, this remote doesn’t need to be pointed at your Apple TV to function. The Siri Remote’s battery also lasts for months and can be recharged via a lightning cable.
tvos & app store –
The Apple TV 4 runs on Apple’s newest operating system, tvOS. Based on iOS, tvOS applies Apple’s normal flat aesthetics with a heavy use of blurring. TvOS also brings a lot of white space, something Apple could have rethought due to the blinding power white screens tend to have in the dark. Otherwise, tvOS brings new apps including photos, Apple Music, and the App Store to the Apple TV 4.
The App Store is the biggest update for the Apple TV 4 as it opens up a whole new world to the Apple TV, much like it did for the original iPhone. Although not nearly as full as the iOS App Store, the Apple TV 4’s selection of Apps and Games is sizable and high quality.
Apps include Netflix, Hulu, Youtube, multiple weather apps, and a few too many fireplace simulators. Most apps for the Apple TV are great and useful, as long as you find the weather on your TV useful. This selection can only get bigger as time goes on.
