School has already started here. The holidays are over. The oldest one won’t start until next week. He’s starting at the MBO. But the other children started this week. It took some getting used to. Getting up early was a difficult moment. Getting back into a rhythm is also a bit of a thing, because sports training has started again. Right back into the rhythm of daily life.

We all realized that the vacation is really over. That the sleeping in, the lazing around and enjoying the Dutch sun is over. Fortunately, we already have something to look forward to, because the mobile home for next year has already been booked. Next year no Dutch sun but Italian. Two weeks of enjoyment at Lake Maggiore.

Own holiday address

This year we spent our holiday in the Netherlands. We rented a cottage from Landal at Landal ‘t Loo in Oldebroek. A very nice holiday spot with plenty of nice things to see in the area. For example, we visited the places Zwolle, Elburg and Nunspeet. This area clearly showed us why you don’t have to go on holiday abroad. That’s why we try to combine travelling in the Netherlands and abroad. In this way we discover the Netherlands but also Europe, in our case preferably Italy.

Actually, there is an ideal combination for that. A silent dream. I would like to have a chalet in the Netherlands and then go to Italy in the summer holidays. That way I can combine both holiday destinations. In the weekend we can enjoy our chalet in the Netherlands and in the summer we can enjoy the Italian lakes.

Chalet in the Netherlands

Because we also work from home, a chalet in the Netherlands offers us many more possibilities. Now we book a chalet at least 3 times a year to relax, to go out on our own for a while. Last year we rented a chalet that partly served as office space. We were both working on a project (making YouTube videos and writing an e-book) where we needed some rest. No distractions for a while.

We are lucky that there are so many nice holiday parks near us. We rented a chalet 15 minutes drive from our house. This way we could be home with the children at night but work during the day in a quiet environment without distractions.

Of course we both slept there for a night. We both find it so wonderful to be alone for a while. Just listen to your own music, meditate, cook for yourself and do what you feel like doing.

If we were to purchase our own chalet or mobile home, we would definitely use it in this way. I think we would definitely use the chalet as an office every quarter and maybe even monthly. An office in this way is of course ideal. This way your family can use the chalet recreationally and you can use it as a workplace. That is optimal enjoyment of all the possibilities.
